George Fox Whitmore

Its a.....

Our little George Fox Whitmore was born Sunday July 23rd at 9:15 am. He weighed 7 lbs 11 oz and was 20 inches long.

His birth was a little traumatic and I will be sharing my whole birth story as soon as I can stop cuddling him 24/7. So expect to see it sometime in the next 18 years haha. We are just so in love with him and can not get enough!

Almost done.

Guys, our house is almost done! We have a couple more things to do and then it will be totally complete. We had some cleaning ladies come today to clean it before we move in all of our stuff. So here are a few pictures of our perfectly clean house. Just keep in mind, it will probably never be this clean again.

Also, I dropped my computer a few weeks ago (face palm) so I wasn't able to edit any of these pictures so the quality is pretty low. No judgement. I am 40 weeks pregnant and low quality pictures if just what you are going to get.

So now that the house is done everyone can come on over and see it. I am really proud of how it looks and I can't wait to show it off!

38-40 Weeks.

Well here we are with the last pregnancy update....hopefully. And lets just say these pictures are definitely getting way less glamorous. Putting on makeup or actually doing my hair is just too much for me these days.

38 Weeks. Baby is as big as a ukelele. Which is perfect because we are going to Hawaii in September and I can not wait! I will probably write a little bit more about this later but we got in a car wreck this week which was a little scary and we had to go to the hospital to monitor the baby but everything looked good with the baby so that was a relief.

39 weeks. Baby is as big as a small pumpkin or a house cat. That seems crazy to me. Not my favorite week because thinking about a cat inside me is a little weird.

40 Weeks! Baby is as big as a red panda, a beach ball, or a watermelon. And I am definitely feeling like I am carrying around a watermelon. We made it to my due date!!! I was so so worried the baby would come early and our house wouldn't be done but the house is livable and clean and now the baby can come.

Also, just a word of advice. Do not redo a house while extremely pregnant. And please please please try to move into your house more than one day before your due date. It will save you a lot of stress.

House Update.

First of all, Happy Due Date to me! I am working on my (hopefully) last pregnancy update and if everything goes how I want it to, by the time I publish that one I will have a baby! (But don't get your hopes up. I still anticipate the baby won't be born until late next week)

Remember how we are redoing our house?

I promised I was going to give updates and I really am but I have just gotten behind on pretty much everything and I dropped my computer the other day so it doesn't work and therefore blogging is a little difficult. But here we go.

We are almost done with everything at this point but most of these pictures are from a few weeks ago so that the end reveal will be more exciting.

First things first, we worked on the bedrooms. We started with painting and then got new carpet installed. Not having red floors is so amazing!

Besides the bedrooms, we also painted the rest of the house and put new floors in. Here are our lovely friends Lauren and Theron helping us build our cabinets. I can not say thank you enough to everyone who has helped us on this house. We really couldn't have done it on our own.

Finished cabinets filling up our living room.

So we clearly got new cabinets which means we got rid of all the other cabinets. One day we had a bunch of people over helping us and they just ripped the whole kitchen out. I was not quite prepared for that and it was a little overwhelming.  I think the pictures would show why it would be a little overwhelming.

We had a lot of electrical work to do behind the walls so our kitchen looked like this for a really long time.

Like 6 weeks.

It was really frustrating for both of us to just be sitting around and not be able to do anything since we are clearly not electricians.  But soon enough we got all the electrical work done and we put the walls back up and we were onto installing cabinets!

There is a little update on how our house renovation is going. As I said, these pictures are a few weeks old and we are basically all done and moved in now. So keep your eyes peeled for another update post soon!

The End.

My title makes this sound really dramatic just calling it the end but I am referring to the end of my pregnancy. As we are approaching baby's due date I am starting to feel a little nostalgic about being pregnant. There are a lot a lot a lot of negatives that come with pregnancy but there are also some really great positives.

I love feeling my little baby move around inside of me and knowing that my little baby is always with me is so great. I also like feeling that my body is doing something amazing. Right now my body is literally creating and building life. In the past 10 months my body has taken a tiny little egg and has created a whole baby! Isn't that crazy?!?

Now I am crying just thinking about how amazing this is and how blessed I am that I get to experience this. But don't worry, I cry every day because I am extremely pregnant and hormones are real.

I am also feeling sad about my baby growing up. I know that is probably the craziest thing ever but as soon as my baby is born then it is the smallest it will ever be. It is just going to keep growing and one day it is going to be all grown up and that just makes me so sad.  Again, hormones are real.

Anyways, I guess I just wanted to say that  pregnancy is definitely not the easiest thing in the world but it has also been really amazing and I am really grateful that I got to experience it. And overall I think I have had a pretty good pregnancy compared to what I have heard from other people. So I am really glad to be pregnant but I am also pretty ready to be done. So any time now baby...preferably sooner rather than later.

Weeks 34-37

Week 34. Baby is as big as Quokka, aka the cutest animal on the earth.

Week 35. Baby is as big as kids backpack. Celebrated my birthday this week! I am sure the baby loved all of the treats I ate all day...lets be honest, all week. It is super crazy that this is my last birthday without being a mom. Kind of freaking me out.

Week 36. Baby is as big as two plates of beignets. I love beignets so why have one plate when you can have two? This week was good. I got a little nervous after my doctors appointment because my belly measured the same as it had two weeks earlier and the baby's heart rate was slightly slower than it has been. The midwife assured me that the baby had probably just dropped (which is a good thing) and that means my belly didn't get any bigger and as the baby gets older their heart rate gets slower. Even though she told me it was all fine I was still slightly worried. I guess this is the beginning of being a mom. Constantly worrying.

Week 37. Baby is as big as a skunk. Great. Let's just say that this week has been hot and my ankles are proof of that. I would really really love it if no one else comments on my ankles again. Thanks. We celebrated the 4th of July this week which is one of my favorite holidays and the baby either loved or hated the fireworks. It was squirming and kicking the whole time. I am going to assume it loved them.

Also we are getting down to the end of this pregnancy! I am 38 weeks today and that means baby could really come any time now. I have been anticipating I will go past my due date basically the whole pregnancy so I am not really holding my breath for the baby coming super soon but it really could be anytime. We have a couple more things to finish at the house before it is really liveable so we are hoping we can get that stuff done before this baby comes. So just stay in until your due date baby and it will make me the happiest.
