Life Update.

So I guess you could say that our life has been a little crazy lately especially since as you are reading this post I am in London!!

First things first, here is a cute picture of us from Easter.

So the biggest thing happening right now in our life is that we bought a house!

AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!

That's how I feel about that.

We are really excited but we are also really freaking out. We found a house in a great location but it definitely needs some work. So we are in for some semi-major house projects for the next few weeks but hopefully we will be able to get everything done quickly.

I don't have any pictures yet but I am going to make sure to document all the things we do along the way.

To add fire to the furnace, as I said, I am in London! My favorite friend Ivy is doing a graduate program in London and I knew I needed to visit her. My mom and I planned this trip right around when I found out I was pregnant and it seemed so far away and I can't believe it is actually here!

We closed on our house yesterday morning and then last night I left for London abandoning poor Spencer to try and get started on all the work we have to do since we only have about two weeks until we move in. So if anyone wants to help him get started on painting and installing new flooring you would be our favorite person ever! Especially since even when I get back from London I am not allowed to paint and I don't think installing flooring or moving boxes is the best thing to do what with being in my third trimester and all.

Basically we have been running around like chickens with our heads cut off trying to get everything together to buy the house, start packing, decide what changes we want to make in the house, and trying to not get too stressed because I am growing a human for crying out loud.

Wish us luck!

Old Wives Tales

So there are about a million old wives tales that relate to predicting the gender of a baby. Since we aren't finding out the gender I thought it would be fun to list a few of them and see which direction they are pointing.

Heartbeat: If the heartbeat is about 140 bpm you are having a girl, if it is below you are having a boy.

Girl. Little one's heartbeat has always been above 140

Morning Sickness: If you have morning sickness in the first trimester you are having a girl.

Boy. I had hardly any morning sickness. #blessed

Moody vs Mellow: If you are more moody you are more likely to be having a girl.

Girl. I have definitely been more moody than usual especially in the first trimester.

How you are carrying: If you are carrying high then you are having a girl. If you are carrying low you are having a boy.

Who really knows what that means to say how you are carrying but I think I am carrying high? So girl. Can someone who actually know what that means confirm?

Body temperature: If you are colder than normal you are having a boy. If you are warmer than normal then you are having a girl.

I feel like this one is a joke because everyone says they get hotter being pregnant so I have definitely been warmer than normal but I am not sure if that one is true. So girl.

Swelling: If your feet and ankles are swelling then you are more likely to have a boy.

Boy. My ankles are already getting swollen when I sit at work for a few hours so I can't imagine how they will look in a couple months!

Chinese Gender Chart: There is some ancient way of predicting baby's gender based on the month of conception and the mother's age.

Boy. Based on the chart in the link above I am having a boy.

Grand total: Girl - 4 Boy - 3

So based on those old wives tales I am having a girl. But I am not sure I really believe them...I guess we will just have to wait until July to find out for sure!

Weeks 21-24

Week 21. Baby is as big as a banana or a least weasel. Who even knows how they find these things. I should mention I have 6 pregnancy apps just because I like to have as many different size comparisons as I can. Baby is kicking up a storm and really loves girl scout cookies.

Week 22. Baby is as big as a guinea pig. Which is really freaky to me because rodents are the worst.

Week 23. Baby is as big as a Barbie doll! I just think that is the cutest thing. We had another doctor's appointment this week and the baby was just squirming around as always and growing like a champ.

Week 24. Baby is as big as a puffin.

I feel like I should have more to update people on but nothing has really changed. My belly is definitely getting bigger and I think strangers can even tell now.

Nothing else really to report. Some days I really wish we had figured out if the baby was a boy or a girl. But that is mostly just when I am looking at baby clothes. How does anyone resist buying them all??? When I am not looking at baby clothes I am perfectly happy that we are waiting. People say that it makes it hard for them to bond with their baby if they don't know the gender but I feel like I am plenty bonded with the baby especially when it is waking me up at 5 am teaching a kickboxing class in my belly.

We just think it is the best baby ever and can't wait to meet it!
