About 6 weeks ago I decided that Spencer and I should go to Disneyland. It took a little convincing but with enough whining on my part Spencer agreed that we could go. Since he is taking a lot of time off work for us to go on our trip later this summer we knew it had to be a quick trip. We left on Thursday afternoon and drove until we got there (which ended up being around 1:30 am). We thought we would be getting there later so we didn't reserve our airbnb for that night because we thought it would just be a couple hours and we didn't want to pay for an extra night. So we ended up sleeping in the parking lot of a 24 hour fitness for a few hours until the security guard got mad at us and we had to move somewhere else. Let's just say it wasn't the most restful night ever.
But then we were on our way to Disneyland!
We crushed our first day at Disneyland. We were trying to get as much done as we could so Saturday could be used to reride any rides we didn't get to and we did a great job. Here are all the rides we rode on day 1 (mostly for my own record).
Hyperspace mountain (twice), Star Tours, Buzz Lightyear (twice), Indiana Jones, Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, Pirates of a Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, Mr. Toads Wild Ride, Snow White, Peter Pan, Pinocchio, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Its a Small World, Roger Rabbit, and Alice in Wonderland.
That meant we really only had a few rides we wanted to ride on Saturday so we were super happy that we got so much done.
We also ate lunch at Cafe Orleans because getting the Monte Cristo sandwich is necessary.
And Spencer had to get a dole whip
So food was basically the highlight of the day. The other highlight of the day was that we kept getting the front row on rides. We got the front row on hyperspace mountain 3 times which was amazing but we also got the front row on Splash Mountain...which we were not so thrilled about..
By the end of the day we were completely exhausted so we slept super hard that night and we back at the park bright and early the next morning.
We started the day at California Adventure and hurried to get a fast pass to the Cars ride. And it was so worth it. After our first ride we hurried back and got another fast pass. It was so fun. We spend the rest of the morning at California Adventure. Disneyland definitely has a monopoly on being "magical" but the feel of California Adventure is so fun.
And I am like a child so I had to get a picture with a character. When I saw Sofia walking around I knew I had to get a picture. I am sure no one watches as many kids shows as I do but Sofia the 1st is probably one of the best Disney shows there is.
After finishing at California Adventure we spent the rest of our night at Disneyland. Our last ride was the carousel which may seem weird to some people but I thought it was so fun.
Disneyland was super super fun and even though it was a completely exhausting weekend it was so worth it.
