Isn't it funny how hindsight really is 20/20?

A few weeks ago I said I was going to post every day about something I was grateful for. That lasted all of about 2 days.

But lately I have been feeling fairly dissatisfied with life. Like nothing is going right and I just feel complacent and semi-disappointed with everything. It has just been kind of  an odd time. Nothing really serious has happened to make me feel dissatisfied it is just a general feeling.

But I know that this feeling could probably have been avoided if I had really spent a little bit of time thinking about what I am grateful for. Having a heart full of gratitude would have helped me to feel happier and satisfied with the wonderful life I have.

So learn from my experience, follow every prompting and little thought you have in your brain. You may never know how those little thoughts will impact you.

I am now going to spend the whole day being thankful for the amazing wonderful blessed life that I have and enjoying my favorite holiday. I hope everyone enjoys their thanksgiving and gets to spend it with those that they love!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am someone that can probably be described as braggy. And if you don't like bragging I would just stop reading this post because I am about to become braggy Betsy.

Grad school has been kind of kicking my butt lately. Every project is harder and takes way more work than anything in undergrad did. That is totally understandable but I just wasn't prepared for quite how hard it would be.

Yesterday me and three other lovely ladies gave an hour long presentation on chidhood obesity. We had to asses the social, economic, and health impacts of childhood obesity, discuss the risk factors, determine how to measure the prevalence of obesity, and create a childhood obesity prevention program. In addition to our presentation we had to write a 20 page paper that went into more depth on all of those topics.

It was a LOT of work.

I would say we spent at least 100 hours working on it.

But we killed it.

Our presentation went off without a hitch. We created an orginal program that filled a gap in service. We had data to back us up. And we answered all the questions that were posed to us in an informed manner.

This was by far the biggest project I have ever worked on and I am actually really proud of it.

I was a little frustrated that no one seemed to care that I was putting so much work into this, or that I was really really stressed or that it was a big deal.(Like 60% of my grade!) But then I realized that even if no one cares or notices what I am doing as long as I am proud of it then that is all that matters.

So I am just going to relish in my accomplishment even if no one else notices. As long as I find worth and fulfillment in what I am doing then no one else really matters. And now I am going to take myself out to dinner because I deserve it.

Ok, I totally failed at my grateful challenge. But next time you go to grad school then you can be mad at me about it. Cause seriously, school is sucking the life out of me. Thanksgiving break can not come soon enough!!!

Anyways, even though I am a busy little bee Spencer and I still made time to knock off a few more temples for the #spannatemplechallenge. We even did two in one day!

Also, in full honesty, the Mt. Timpanogas temple was closed so we just enjoyed how it looked and took a quick picture. Hopefully we will get back there eventually but for our purposes we visited the temple and that counts.

And since I have failed at saying what I am grateful for I will tell you now that I am extremely grateful for the temple. I am also so grateful that we get to do a temple challenge. There are so many people that don't ever get to go to the temple and we can go to 14 in our own state!!! How lucky are we??

Last weekend we headed down to Moab.

I know it seems like I have been on a lot of trips lately and I kind of have but really they have only been one night so it has mostly just been me driving a lot. But still worth it.

Here are some photos. We hiked Delicate Arch, Landscape Arch, and Double Arch. They were all super amazing and I am so so glad that I went.

So one time Halloween happened and this was my costume.

I was pretty proud of myself because I was able to make the rabbit ears all by myself. I was also pretty proud of use because we had been home from St. George for approximately 10 minutes when we showed up at this party. So obviously we are a #powercouple

Speaking of St. George. Today I am grateful for Utah and all the wonderful little trips I have taken lately. Aren't road trips just the best?

Also I thought I had more blog posts planned out to continue my #gratitudechallenge but I didn't so sorry and maybe I won't be posting something every day. But I promise I am still thinking of things to be grateful for.

Today I am grateful for my dog.

She's a funny little lady.

And when I say little I mean really large lady.

She is still a puppyish so she can be a little bit of a pain at times but we like her. I am especially grateful for her because she will always go on a walk with me. I really really like going on walks but I don't like to go alone. Since not everyone loves to go on walks with me I have my trusty sidekick. She is kind of terrible on walks but a walk is a walk.

So thanks little buddy.

Books books books.

Where do I even begin to say how grateful I am for books.

Books have been with me through some of the best and worst times of my life. They have made me see the world in a new light. They have made my life so much richer than it would have been if I had never read them.

So books. I am incredibly grateful for books.

If you want to know what I like to read you can check out my goodreads. And if you have any books to recommend I am always looking for my next book to read.

Also, does anyone want to start a book club? I think that would be the funnest thing!

The next thing I am grateful for is my memory.

That may seem like a kind of odd thing to be grateful for but let me explain myself...

I spent a really long time last Sunday catching up on my journal writing. I have never been particularly good at writing in my journal but I love to go back and read it. As I was writing about some really important things that have happened since I last wrote I was so happy I was able to remember most of the details about those moments.

I would be so so sad if I had lost those details and without my memory I would have no record of them. And since I am so grateful for my memory I have decided to help it out by writing in my journal more. I like to think I will be able to remember everything forever but that isn't going to happen. So journaling is going to be my new hobby.

I think I will probably just start by writing once a week and go from there. And hopefully all this writing about details will help my mind to remember even more details.

What are you grateful today?

November is my FAVORITE month!

Mostly because Thanksgiving is the best holiday that has ever been invented.

Nothing is better than Thanksgiving...except my birthday which is an obvious exception to every outrageous statement I make.

I really really love November and I have a feeling this is going to be an extra special November.

So, like every other person on the earth I am going to do a gratitude challenge. I am a few days behind but better late than never.

And since November is my favorite month I am going to start with my favorite thing.

I bet you thought I was going to say cupcakes but no, socks are my favorite. I am the coldest person on the earth and socks are the only thing that help me stay remotely warm during winter. I really don't know what I would do without socks.

So now I am going to blog something I am grateful for ever day. And if anyone wants to join me I love having company. So you can comment on each post what you are grateful for or you can send me a link to a post or tweet or something that you are grateful for.

Yay for November!
