I really loved making my 2013 year in pictures last year so here I am making another one.

2014. Wow. It has been a BIG year. Like really big. I feel like so much has happened that I can not even begin to describe it. I think 2014 has been the best year of my life. I think I will say that every year but 2014 will always hold a special place in my heart.

Thanks 2014 for being so heavenly and spectacular! Here is to an even better 2015!!

Its like I get out of school and all motivation for blogging goes out the window. And I guess Christmas made me a little busy. So here is a quick recap.

We went to the Symphony for Spencer's work party and tried to be fancy.

We went The Lower Lights/ National Parks concert. It was the Masonic Temple and it may have been the coolest concert venue I have ever been to.

We also went to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert and it was really good. We definitely had our fill of concerts.

Santa came to my house.

It finally snowed and yet I continued to wear my Birkenstocks

I got this for Christmas.

And my family had the best Christmas card in all the land, thanks to my wonderful friend Sarah Rodriguez

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

I will be honest, I really only go see the Lights at Temple Square like every other year. My family never really had a tradition of going and we would only go if someone else suggested it.

So when Spencer suggested we go there on the day after Thanksgiving I thought that was a great idea. Little did I know, that every other person in the whole Salt Lake Valley also wanted to go on the day after Thanksgiving.

So there were approximately 1 billion people there but it was still great. They really never disappoint.

I am also never disappointed when I get to watch the Broncos play. Which is exactly what I am doing while also watching Spencer decorate his family's christmas tree. For some reason I just thought it was hilarious that I was watching football and he was decorating. He will probably be mad that I took a sneaky picture of him but yolo.

Well thanksgiving happened and it was obviously the best!

I swear there is nothing better than Thanksgiving. It is definitely my favorite holiday.

Here are the only three pictures I took all day. Not even mad.

Food is really the only important thing anyways.

I went on a bit of a rant last week but I do not regret it at all. but now we can move onto a lighter topic.

A few weeks ago my lovely friend Shana threw the best party I have ever been to. It was a Jimmy Fallon themed party and everyone had to dress up as a celebrity.

Me and Spencer obviously had to be a #powercouple so hopefully you can guess who we are.

At the party we played games that Jimmy Fallon has on his show like "box of lies", "flip cup", "password", and my least favorite "water wars"

Water wars is where you play the card game war and whoever loses each round gets a cup of water splashed on their face. I bet you can guess who got picked for this one.

As you can tell, I was not totally thrilled about this one.

Luckily I only got one glass of water splashed on my face and had to splash the guy across from me three times. I actually felt really bad splashing him, but he was a good sport.

It was seriously one of the most fun/funny nights I have ever had. Everyone should have a Jimmy Fallon party like once a week..

I might get some serious anger over this but I don't really care.

If I have to hear one more thing about how feminism needs more support and awareness I am going to punch someone.

I firmly believe that men and women should have the same rights and privileges but I don't think that we need to all freak out about it all the time. And honestly I am so sick of reading/ hearing about it.

Because there are WAY WAY WAY more important things to be concerned about.

What about all the children that die every day because they don't have clean drinking water?

What about all the mothers that die every day during child birth because they don't have access to any healthcare services?

What about all the people around the world that are going hungry? Or don't have homes? Or who are suffering from a debilitating illness?

Right now America has a serious case of #firstworldproblems and I am sick of it.

We think our tiny little problems are the most important things in the world and then we throw hissy fits if people don't think our problems are important.

Sometimes people just need to get over it and realize that the world doesn't revolve around them. There are plenty of things to be outraged about in the world but the fact that your every whim is not being catered to is not one of them.

So stop whining and start caring about things that are actually important.

Isn't it funny how hindsight really is 20/20?

A few weeks ago I said I was going to post every day about something I was grateful for. That lasted all of about 2 days.

But lately I have been feeling fairly dissatisfied with life. Like nothing is going right and I just feel complacent and semi-disappointed with everything. It has just been kind of  an odd time. Nothing really serious has happened to make me feel dissatisfied it is just a general feeling.

But I know that this feeling could probably have been avoided if I had really spent a little bit of time thinking about what I am grateful for. Having a heart full of gratitude would have helped me to feel happier and satisfied with the wonderful life I have.

So learn from my experience, follow every prompting and little thought you have in your brain. You may never know how those little thoughts will impact you.

I am now going to spend the whole day being thankful for the amazing wonderful blessed life that I have and enjoying my favorite holiday. I hope everyone enjoys their thanksgiving and gets to spend it with those that they love!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am someone that can probably be described as braggy. And if you don't like bragging I would just stop reading this post because I am about to become braggy Betsy.

Grad school has been kind of kicking my butt lately. Every project is harder and takes way more work than anything in undergrad did. That is totally understandable but I just wasn't prepared for quite how hard it would be.

Yesterday me and three other lovely ladies gave an hour long presentation on chidhood obesity. We had to asses the social, economic, and health impacts of childhood obesity, discuss the risk factors, determine how to measure the prevalence of obesity, and create a childhood obesity prevention program. In addition to our presentation we had to write a 20 page paper that went into more depth on all of those topics.

It was a LOT of work.

I would say we spent at least 100 hours working on it.

But we killed it.

Our presentation went off without a hitch. We created an orginal program that filled a gap in service. We had data to back us up. And we answered all the questions that were posed to us in an informed manner.

This was by far the biggest project I have ever worked on and I am actually really proud of it.

I was a little frustrated that no one seemed to care that I was putting so much work into this, or that I was really really stressed or that it was a big deal.(Like 60% of my grade!) But then I realized that even if no one cares or notices what I am doing as long as I am proud of it then that is all that matters.

So I am just going to relish in my accomplishment even if no one else notices. As long as I find worth and fulfillment in what I am doing then no one else really matters. And now I am going to take myself out to dinner because I deserve it.

Ok, I totally failed at my grateful challenge. But next time you go to grad school then you can be mad at me about it. Cause seriously, school is sucking the life out of me. Thanksgiving break can not come soon enough!!!

Anyways, even though I am a busy little bee Spencer and I still made time to knock off a few more temples for the #spannatemplechallenge. We even did two in one day!

Also, in full honesty, the Mt. Timpanogas temple was closed so we just enjoyed how it looked and took a quick picture. Hopefully we will get back there eventually but for our purposes we visited the temple and that counts.

And since I have failed at saying what I am grateful for I will tell you now that I am extremely grateful for the temple. I am also so grateful that we get to do a temple challenge. There are so many people that don't ever get to go to the temple and we can go to 14 in our own state!!! How lucky are we??

Last weekend we headed down to Moab.

I know it seems like I have been on a lot of trips lately and I kind of have but really they have only been one night so it has mostly just been me driving a lot. But still worth it.

Here are some photos. We hiked Delicate Arch, Landscape Arch, and Double Arch. They were all super amazing and I am so so glad that I went.
