I keep having all these great ideas about things to blog about and then I sit down to actually write and nothing comes out. So I kind of feel like I am failing at this.

So I will just leave you with this video of the best thing ever. And wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving! It's my favorite holiday and I could not be more excited!!!

Oh and if anyone has any sort of inspiration for me that would be greatly appreciated!

Catching Fire.

Ok team, lets talk about Catching Fire. And by Catching Fire I mean Effie Trinket's outfits in Catching Fire.

Seriously though, I was really sad when they had to go into the arena because I knew I wouldn't see anymore of Effie. I have to admit that her hair and makeup was not quite as good as it was in the first movie but the fashion designer for this movie melted my heart. I should also use this opportunity to say sorry to the people sitting around me because I really couldn't stop talking about the clothes.

She seriously murdered this Alexander McQueen look

Effie, please stop trying to kill us all with your amazingness.

And seriously, I can not even handle this one,

Please don't tell me that I am the only one that noticed her clothing. I really can not be the only person that is this obsessed with her.

Oh Land.

I seriously resisted getting spotify for a long time. Lets be honest, I didn't get it because I was scared and I thought I had to connect it with my facebook and didn't need everyone seeing what I was listening to.

(Speaking of that, can someone tell me if my spotify usage shows up on my facebook?)

But I finally gave in and I think I am in love. I really like that they suggest music for me based on my taste. I am always looking for new things to listen to but most of the time I just resort to the newest Katy Perry or Ke$ha cd.

When spotify suggested I listen to Oh Land I wasn't expecting anything great but she may be my new favorite singer. Her music is so catchy and I am OBSESSED. Watch these videos and I promise you will not be disappointed.

This next one is definitely my favorite song!

Let's talk about having balance in our lives.

This is what my room currently looks like.

It is definitely out of balance.

Do you guys feel like you have a balanced life?

For me, I consider having a balanced life to be having time to do all the things I have to do but also having time to do the things I want to do. And recently that has felt really out of whack.

I have been so busy with school and internships and research proposals and grad school applications that it feels like there isn't time for anything else. But if I do get a spare night to do something social it feels like I have a million different obligations and not enough time to do all of those.

Here is an example, on Monday I had to finish research proposal, a case study, and a paper which means my day was pretty busy. That night I had a basketball game I wanted to watch, a church event to go to, a surprise birthday party to help set up, and a movie night that I was hosting.

Even though I had a mix of school and fun things to do it didn't seem balanced. It felt like I was rushing to and from each thing and not really committing myself to what I was doing right at that moment. I had so many different things to do that I wasn't able to enjoy any of them. And I think that represents a lack of balance in my life.

I am just not sure how to get a balanced life where I can get everything done but still enjoy what I am doing. Do you ever feel really out of balance? What do you to restore balance in your life?

My favoritest friend Kimi is getting married on Saturday and I could not be more excited for her. Seriously, I have never seen a person more in love than Kimi is with Alex. For all the time I have known Kimi she has always said that she wasn't sure she would ever get married because she didn't think she could commit, but she is prime example of just never having the right guy. Alex is so obviously the right guy for Kimi and I am so so glad she found someone to make her so happy.

Oh and it doesn't hurt that they are basically models...

Kimi had her bridal shower a few weeks ago and it was so much fun! I am usually not the biggest fan of bridal showers but this one didn't force me to play any horrible games and I got to be with my favorite people. I am serious, if you have something boring you have to attend just invite Ellen and Ivy and it will automatically be the best time.

I am just so happy to have these girls in my life. They are seriously the best and I am obsessed with them . I was so worried when I went to London that I wouldn't make any friends, little did I know that I would find my best friends for life!

Hooray for Kimi and Alex!!! I know you are going to have the best marriage and I am so thrilled for you!

I have long legs. Everyone is always like "how great! Your legs are so long!" and really I am just like "try finding a pair of pants that is actually the right length." But besides always having too short of pants my only real complaint about my legs is that everyone else in the world has shorter legs than me which mean they walk wayyyy too slow.

In fact, I think the quote that best describes my whole life is "Please move at glacial pace. You know how that thrills me." (Name that movie)

In my family we are fast walkers. It stems from my grandpa walking at a very brisk pace and the rest of us having to always try to keep up with him. I like to think this is evolution in real life. I enjoy walking fast. Why would I want to waste my valuable time walking slow when I could just get where I am going.

So when I saw this GIF with the caption "When the person in front of me is walking at a snail's pace" I just had to share it.

But really people. Lets just move along.

There is a precedence on this blog to tell about things at least two weeks after they occur so there is no way I could break the tradition now.

Two weeks ago Austin came up from Provo and we decided that carving pumpkins would be fun. And by fun we meant murderous.

Also, lets just throw out a disclaimer and say that I am horrible at carving pumpkins. Like really awful. This is the extent of my ability.

So fancy!

I also carved a cat face and we stuck a mouse pumpkin in its mouth but of course we didn't take a picture of that one.

We didn't really want to keep all the pumpkin for ourselves so we decided to drop them off at Andrew and Laurel's house. We put the pumpkins on their porch and then doorbell ditched them . Yes we are two years old. But Andrew and Laurel loved it and they gave us hot chocolate. So no one is mad.

Well actually I am mad at my lack of documentation. I promise I will be better at actually taking pictures in the future. You will hold me accountable to that, right?

"Be the Change"

Most of you probably know that I went to Zambia in the summer of 2011. I have written about it multiple times (herehere, and here). But not very many people get to really hear about Zambia. It is so tender to me that I am almost scared to share it with people. There is no way they can really understand my experience and I do not want anyone to misjudge my experience there because I can not adequately express it in words. I LOVE Zambia with all my heart and I am trying to share about it more because it is such a vital part of who I am and what I am doing with my life.

So here is me sharing.

I know this is kind of hard to read but you can go to get more info.

I am sincerely inviting each one of you to come to the boutique. It is a lot of fun, it is a great place to get Christmas presents, and it is for a great cause.

Recently I got an email from Kathy, the head of Mothers Without Borders. She was asking each of us to share the word about this boutique. She was especially encouraging us because times are really hard in Zambia. The currency has depreciated, the price of gasoline has doubled, and there was a shortened growing season. Any of these problems on their own would be catastrophic but the combination of the three has become crippling. Their operating budget has increased almost 50% but the donations have not gone up which has caused some serious issues.

These facts just break my heart. I would willingly give all of my money to help this cause if I could, but since that is just not possible I am pleading with you to help.

Seriously, please just stop by the boutique. I promise you that you will not be disappointed. I also promise that you will be able to find something for you or for someone you know. And you will be helping orphans! Its a win win situation.  If you don't want to go by yourself, just call me. Cause I will be spending a lot of time there.

If you can't attend the boutique here are some other ways you can help.

1. Go to the Mothers Without Borders website and click on the Donate Now link. If you do donate, make sure to put "Be the Change Event" on the donation form so they can track their progress
2.  Sponsor a child in school. Again you just go to the Mothers Without Borders website and click on the "Sponsor a Child" link. I am OBSESSED with doing this and try to do it every year. Education is the most powerful tool in the world and you are seriously changing a child's life by just helping them go to school. I can tell you for a fact that these children do not take school for granted, and they work their hardest to do well in school. It is so so worth it.

I really hope you will be able to help out this wonderful cause that is so close to my heart. I would love to hear from you if you have attended this event in the past or if you go this year. And since I am sharing my favorite cause with you, I would love to hear what some of your favorite causes are.

Fall is usually hard for me because I know it signifies winter. And me and winter are not on the best of terms. It may have something to do with the fact that I am basically incapable of keeping my body warm, or the fact that snow is my worst enemy or that skiing just brings back bad memories. But this year fall has really been killing it.

These pictures do not do these scenes justice. I have seriously never seen anything so beautiful. But I spent a good chunk of time on Saturday mowing up the leaves in our yard so I guess that means its time for winter to come. Which also means it is time for me to go into hibernation.

See you in May!

I am only slightly kidding about the hibernation...

Catch up.

I have way too many random things to catch up on to do a post for each of them so here we. Time to catch up on the fabulous life of Anna.

I went to the Rooftop Concert Series concert that featured The National Parks. I am seriously obsessed with this band and the concert could not have been better.

Kimi, Ivy, and I went to dinner and I took embarrassing pictures of myself with Ivy's amazing sunglasses. Everytime I am with these super amazing ladies I am kind of surprised that we are friends. We are all so completely different but yet we always have the best time together. I guess that is just the power of London.

I drew a super awesome picture of Anastasia. You might not know that if you spend enough time looking at the extra features of the movie you can learn how to draw her. Don't be too jealous that you aren't as good at art as I am.

We caught a demon spawn in our backyard. AKA a raccoon.

I got a totally cool tattoo. Don't ask me what it means because I can not remember....oh, and to be clear that was just a pen tattoo. I was seriously disappointed when it washed off the next day.

Kelli and I froze our faces off being supportive of our ward soccer team. Don't act like you are surprised that I didn't play in the games. Also don't be surprised that we were freezing even with four blankets.

And last but not least.

Prince George got christened! Is he not the cutest thing you have ever seen??? Don't you worry, I am still just as obsessed with the royal family as I have always been.

Maybe this wins for the most boring post in the history of forever? Or maybe it wins for the most thrilling.
You decide.

Let me start off by saying, I really dislike Halloween. It is just not one of my favorite holidays. But this year was pretty dang good.

Mostly because I had the best costume ever.

I will give you a minute to think about it and then guess....

Oh my goodness! You are so smart! I was obviously Kate Middleton with Prince George.

And I even had this beautiful ring from Wal-Mart to complete the look.

Ya you are jealous that you did not think of this outfit first.

I was actually really proud of it even though no one could figure out who I was. Seriously people, I am only the most famous woman in the world!!!

Besides the fact that people didn't know who Kate was, I had a lovely night and I hope all of you did too. Does anyone have any costumes they think can beat mine??
