Blueberry.

My cousin invited me to go to a Real Salt Lake game with him and we have previously discussed my Real game experiences and there is really nothing else too exciting to say about the game, except that the ref was horrendous.

But the most exciting part of the game is that I got to hang out with their dog before. Now you might not know me at all but I am obsessed with dogs. Like I want one so bad! Every time I see someone with their dog I just get way jealous and usually mad at the person because they have a dog and I don't.

But not my cousins because their dog is perfect.

This is Blueberry. And she likes to hug my arm.

Don't you just love her already???

She has the best personality and one time I took her on a walk and learned that she is the perfect dog for running with. Like seriously, she runs at the perfect pace for me. I will have to keep that in mind if I ever start being a good runner.

Blueberry likes/hates this game.

This is me trapping her in between my legs and seeing if she can get away. It was fun for me for approximately .2 seconds before I realized that dogs are way stronger than me and also have claws.

You can imagine how that ended.

Lately.

I currently on my way to Montana for our big family vacation.

You might be thinking it is weird that we are going to Montana but I am actually pretty excited. So get ready for a million pictures when I get home.

Now all of you can be excited too!

But I just wanted to document some things that have happened lately.

Laurel and Andrew invited me over for dinner! Doesn't it look impressive?

This is probably bad to say but I was happily surprised by Laurel's cooking skills. The dinner was really good.

One reason why I can not be married right now is that my cooking skills are a little sad and I don't think I have the motivation to make dinner every night. That just sounds like a drag.

But laurel is doing a great job of it! What a good little housewife haha.

I got to hang out with this little monster and I am totally obsessed with her.

I know I just said that I couldn't be married but I could definitely have a baby as long as it was this exact one.

I think she is the cutest thing to ever grace this earth and she is so happy all the time. She just melts my heart.

I also hung out with this person and he might literally be a monster.

Like I am kind of disturbed with this picture.

But me and Austin have been having a lovely time lately...even if he does just use me for access to a pool...

And even if we eat mexican food that makes both of us sick. That proves that I will do just about anything for a churro.

That is probably a problem...yolo.

Brothers.

Wow I must be feeling extra sentimental this week.

Because after that touching post I wrote yesterday about Ellie now I am writing about my brothers.

My brothers have been on the boy scout jamboree for the last three weeks. And let me tell you, it has been heavenly at our house....I mean, we missed them so much.

Well I kind of missed Henry because I couldn't discuss sports with him. And I kind of missed Will because I had to do some of the work he normally does. Like put the chickens away. Don't even get me started on that night.

But they are coming home today. Having them home will make our house a lot louder but it will also be back to normal. Having them gone made me realize that I miss the noise and craziness that is my family.

We may all fight a lot but I am pretty sure that is how we express our love....or that's what I am going to say so it doesn't seem like we hate each other.

We will see how long this sentiment lasts because we are going on a road trip next week and I am pretty sure I am not going to miss them at all after five minutes in that car.

But for right now, I am glad that they are coming home.

Ellie.

Want to know how I know I am a good sister?

1. I posted about the royal baby instead of my sister on her birthday.

2. These are the only two decent pictures I could find of my sister on my computer.

Ok fine. I mostly just wanted to post the first picture because I am wearing super cool skechers and those capris are really rocking the world of fashion.

It is not my fault that pre-teen girls don't like me to take pictures of them as much as 6 year olds do.

But Ellie is 13 now and that is just crazy sauce.

She is the only sibling that I can remember being born, the other ones just kind of appeared.

I spent the whole day at my grandparents waiting by the phone. I was so so excited to finally be getting a sister after those two brothers. Speaking of brothers, I have no recollection of them being with me on the day Ellie was born so who even knows what they were doing.

I can seriously tell you that that day was the longest one of my life. I am sure my mom wasn't having a very pleasant experience either but I think I was the one that was really suffering. How long does an 8 year old have to wait to get her baby sister???

Apparently the answer is all day. The amount of tv I watched that day was probably the beginning of my addiction to tv. But finally she was born!

And disappointingly she was named Elizabeth instead of Isabelle. Which caused quite a dilemma in my life because I had made a book at school and wrote that I had a baby sister named Isabelle. People are going to be very confused when I am famous and they read that book only to find no record of "Isabelle"

Happy belated birthday Ellie!! I am so grateful for you in my life.

Royal Baby.

You guys might not know that I love the royal family....oh wait, you guys did know that? Because I am very very open about my love of all things famous/british/classy and that is the definition of the royal family.

Anyways, the royal baby is basically the best thing to ever happen to me.

Maybe that is an exaggeration but maybe it is not.

I seriously can not tell you how excited I have been about this baby. Maybe on monday morning I was walking around my house chanting "royal baby! royal baby"

But that is just a maybe.

I also spent all morning on Tuesday watching the live feed of the hospital so I could know exactly when they left and see a glimpse of that little prince.
And I can not tell you how happy I was! Are they not the cutest thing you have ever seen???

I just die.

I can not wait to hear what his name is! I have my own guesses on what it will be but I don't feel like revealing those just yet.

Hooray for the royal baby!!!!

Oh and also it is my sister's birthday. It should tell you how important this is that I haven't even made a whole post about my sister on her birthday. Worst sister ever award? Or best baby watcher award?

You decide

Mountains.

Yesterday we went up to the Albion basin to look at the wildflowers. Don't be sad if you don't know where that is cause me and my mom didn't either but we learned it was just my dad's fancy way of saying Alta.

Also, did you guys know that Alta is its own town??? You learn something new every day.

I guess you could say that it was pretty...

Please forgive the fact that Maisie is nearly incapable of smiling for a picture.

Oh and don't worry, I got one super far away picture of myself. Just the way I like it.

We are so blessed that we live so close to these gorgeous mountains and I definitely do not take advantage of them enough.

I mean, how stunning is this??

So if anyone wants to come play in the mountains with me, I am pretty sure I will be there every day.

I can not get enough!

Maisie can't either.

Oh, and what kind of photo post would this be without a vertical picture of something kind of industrial?

I guess I have a very distinct photography style. Ha.

Farmer's Market

Last Saturday I spent some time at the Salt Lake Farmer's Market.

Let me first say I ate the best taco ever.

Oh and that lemonade was not too bad either.

I went because I am interning with the Utah Refugee Coalition and I was looking at their booth for Global Artisans because I am running the booth at the Twilight Concert Series tonight. So be sure to come and visit me if you are going!

Well anyways, the farmers market was lovely. I got some amazing cherries and I got to take some pictures so I am definitely not mad. And I plan on going again in the future so if you want to go I am so down.

Farm.

So did you know that we have a farm?

This is the farm. Doesn't it look exciting?

When there are baby tornadoes it is exciting.

I spent a day last week at the farm and it was approximately one million degrees but still quite enjoyable.

One of the main reasons we went out there was because they were baling the hay.

So that was fun. I mostly just watching while other people did all the real work.

I think documenting was just as important as actually helping, don't you agree?

I also decided that being a professional four wheeler is in my future.

Oh and I did some horse whispering.

When I say horse whispering I mean crying. Literal crying. For some reason those dang horses were making me so emotional. I do not even know what it was.

And then for some reason I decided to reveal that super embarrassing fact to the whole world.

Yolo.

I would say it was a pretty successful day. Especially since I took these pictures.

And I played with Art!

Hooray for farms!

Heavy.

I talk/think a lot about letting go of things.

Source
Right now I have this idea of how things should be that I am holding onto so tightly just wishing that it would happen that it isn't doing me any good any more. Honestly, it is just dragging me down and making me less satisfied with my life than I should be.

It is heavy.

Too heavy for me to carry anymore.

In the book Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer, Oskar has something he calls heavy boots. His heavy boots are things that make him sad. I love this image. It is hard for him to move in his life because he has on his heavy boots.

Now in the book he can not really get rid of his heavy boots because they are real problems in the world. But I can get rid of these heavy boots.

Maybe some time I will come back to this thing and it will bring me the happiness it is supposed to, but right now it just has to go.

It is going to be hard and it is probably going to hurt... a lot...but in the long run I know I will be better for it.

Sorry to be so vague, if you want to know more you can talk to me about it personally and I would love to share more but it seems a little personal to share with everyone.

I hope this can inspire you to let go of things in your life that are keeping you down. No one should have to walk around in heavy boots.

Rooftop.

Another activity I did this weekend was go to Provo to go to the Rooftop Concert Series.

It was a torrential downpour so they had to move the concert inside and we got a little confused about the time and ended up waiting in line forever and a half.

As you can tell Sarah was really thrilled about the wait.

Once we finally got inside it was lovely. I got to see one of my favorite bloggers C Jane Kendrick in real life and she was wearing a flower crown, so ya I am jealous.

The opening band was to die for. I am not even kidding. New favorite band.

They are called The National Parks and I am OBSESSED. I need to go to every single one of their shows. I need to listen to them 24/7 but since they haven't released and album that is making things very difficult for me. But seriously, look them up.

The rest of the concert was a Rolling Stones tribute. I don't love the Rolling Stones. But I do love it when the lead singer of Neon Trees is one of the singers!

I would say the concert was pretty successful and I was super glad I went. So so fun and I can't wait to see what they are doing next month!

4th

I really really like the 4th of July. I think it is a splendid holiday.

Mine started off with a neighborhood breakfast with my extended family.

I think these socks say a lot about my family...

And I think these babies show that my family is the cutest.

After the breakfast we went to the Holladay City Criterion. AKA a bike race where the people just go around a short course a million times.

Its pretty cool how our group made up 80% of the people there. Oh well.

While it looks like everyone is having a super enjoyable time watching I needed some action. So Doug taught me how to skateboard!

You might be thinking, "wow anna, you look really good at skateboarding" But this next picture would prove otherwise.

Yes I ran into a child and used a flag to stabilize myself.

But I got a pretty good instagram out of it so that is all that really matters.

Swimming and lunch happened after the race but I am pretty sure you all know what that is.

That night we had a lovely barbque and the guys got right down to business.

Yes we do fireworks from Wyoming and we use a Rockstar bottle to make makeshift bottle rocket launchers.

You might be jealous that you are not as cool as us.

Also we are super cool and lazy so we didn't even go to the firework place. We just walked to the closest open space (aka the elementary school) and hoped the trees wouldn't block our view.

They didn't.

#winning

I hope that your holiday and weekend was as wonderful as mine! Happy Birthday America!!!
