Now I have been very heavily influenced in my musical choices from my mom. Me and my cousin Taft always talk about how out music taste came straight from our parents. This means I listen to a lot of barenaked ladies and the smiths.

Let's just say the smiths might be the best band of all time. And disagreeing with me would be futile.

As I always say about every band I listen to "sometimes the only way to make it through the day is to listen to the smiths"

And let me tell you, this is the most true of the smiths. "Please let me get what I want this time", " to die next to you is the most heavenly way to die", " panic on the streets of London", and "why do I smile at people I would much rather kick in the eye?"

Oh the lyrics kill me.
My favorite song is probably "Girlfriend in a Coma" but you guys would probably think I was weird if I said I said it anyways. But I will show you a more popular song.
Now you're addicted, right?

I may have the worst hair known to man.
It is so so rude to me. When I want it to be straight it decides today it will have some awkward curls. And when I want it to be curly it likes to go as flat as it possibly can.
It never listens and therefore always looks like a 3 year old did my hair. So to all you people who see my hair on a regular basis I promise I spend a lot of time trying to make it look good but eventually I have to give up.
Anyways, I am obsessed with the violet hair Katy Perry had a while back.
I mean, how can you not love that??? I wish more than anything in the world that I was brave enough to do that...and cool enough to pull it off.
Ivy has purple hair that is not quite dramatic and it looks fabulous (BYU might not let her get an ID card but who really needs one of those)
So world, do we think I should have purple hair?

US Open.

As I mentioning in this post watching the US Open reminded me of my love for Andy Murray. Now I have been a constant supporter of both of the Andy's (Murray and Roddick). But I will be the first to admit that they were both being very frustrating to me.
I was getting very very sick of only cheering for people that never win when I want them to. But then Andy Roddick announced his retirement and I got way too emotional.
Andy was my first tennis love. I have been cheering for him from the beginning of my tennis watching career. And I even cried when he lost Wimbledon to Roger a few years ago.
And although I love his tennis playing with all my heart I get so mad at him it is not even funny. If you have ever watched a sporting event with me then you know how intense I can get. And Andy's tennis matches may be the most intense besides a close Utah vs Byu football game.
Anyways, watching his last match was far too emotional for me and I am just pretending that he didn't actually retire.
Then we get on to the second Andy. Andy Murray has been close to pushing Andy Roddick out of the top spot in my heart for a long time. And I guess he has succeeded now.
He finally won a major!!! I have only been waiting forever for this to happen! (as displayed in this post)
And yet again I cried while watching him win.
Lets just say this was a very emotional tournament for me. And you better bet that I LOVED every minute of it.

So I recently started following a blog called The Man Repeller. It is written by a woman who says she dresses like a "man repeller"
I also read a few blog posts about dressing for men.
So those posts really got me thinking about how I dress. I pay a lot of attention to how I dress and I try to dress cute. And while I don't dress specfically for guys I would hope that the things I wear aren't making me a "man repeller".
But I think that there has to be a balance. I think the most important thing is that I should love what I wear. Right? I am the only person that has to see my outfit all day and if I don't love it then what is the point of wearing it?
But then again, I don't want guys to think I am a weirdo just because of what I wear. But if some guys think I dress weird then those are not the guys that I want to hang out.
Wow, I am just talking in circle at this point.
Kind of an interesting concept and I am obviouslt not quite sure of my opinion on it.
Anyone else have any thoughts?

Some days you just need to listen to some Lana Del Ray. And let me tell you there is nothing wrong with that.
This one just had the best music video but I am serious when I say that I love every single song on her album. "This is What Makes Us Girls" is probably my favorite. But "Off the the Races" is a very close second.
Oh and how could I forget "Dark Paradise".
Ok so I am saying the exact same thing I said last week. Listen to the whole cd. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Last Saturday was the Utah vs Byu game. It still seems odd to have to game so early in the season but I'm not mad.
We got to the game really early so we saw the team doing their warm ups and stuff.
It was an intense game. Mostly defense. But that is because Utah has one of the best defenses around. And that it not just me saying that, the pros say it too.
Anyways, it was crazy and the refs were out of control and made some seriously terrible calls. As always there were a few little skirmishs but when doesn't that happen at a rivalry game?
But in the end Utah won!!!! Or so we thought...
All the fans rushed the field and everyone was celebrating until the Refs decided that there need to be one more second on the clock. So all the fans had to go off to the sidelines and watch byu attempt a field goal.
And of course Utah blocked the field goal!!!! So we thought the Utes won again!!!
But then the refs went on a power trip and decided that the fans rushed the field while the play was still alive so the Utes got a penalty and Byu got to attempt another closer field goal.
Then it hit the side of the field goal post and didn't go in!
So now the Utes really won!
It was so so ridiculous that the refs tried their best to help byu win but yet they could not. I think this picture expresses everything perfectly.
It was a good game and it was the perfect way to end the last byu game in rice eccles until at least 2016.
Go utes!!!!

Here is the thing about Utahans. We like defined seasons. None of this transition crap.

We display our want for the seasons to change by what we wear. Like if we start wearing shorts in April it will force the weather to get warmer. Alas that is not the case

But people have decided it is time for fall and there is nothing the earth can do about it.

I have seen an abundance of sweaters, boots, jackets, and even scarves over the past few days. And don't get me wrong. I am so ready to start wearing fall clothes. But just because it is 80 degrees instead of 90 does not mean I will pull out my parka.

So to all you lovely people who can not wait to wear your warm clothes, just think in about two months we will all be wearing snow gear everywhere we go and we will be dying to wear our shorts. So hold it just a little longer. I think your sweaters can survive without you.
But I don't think you can survive with them. Seriously, you are sweating.

Ok ok ok. I know I blog way too much about hashtags. But who doesn't love a good hashtag?
And let me just put this out there. I have no idea where I am going with this post. I am just typing. So heaven knows where this will go.
I am legitimately obsessed with hashtags. I love them. I tweet them. I instagram them. I text them. And yes, I even use them in real life.
I have this theory that hashtags make you smarter. Because you have to be smart enough to separate the words out. So really it is like excercise. Plus I promise it makes your conversations one million times better.
I guarantee that you will love them if you start using them. Unless of course you're friends start thinking you are weird and say #seeyanever. But I am sure that will not happen.
Speaking of #seeyanever, that is by far my favorite hashtag and my favorite thing to say.
Here are a few of my other favorites.

Also, people might tell you that hashtags are supposed to be short, but to anyone that says that I say #seeyanever. So you can tell them that and I know they will change their mind.

Told you I wouldn't be consistent in my music blogging, regardless I love Florence + The Machine.
And if you don't, then you should.
Disclaimer: I did not preview this music video
But I could not leave you with just one Florence song. So here is a list of my other favorites.
"Breaking Down"
"Lover to Lover" I love this one more than anything. Love Love Love
"No Light"
"Shake it Out"
"Never Let Me Go"
"What the Water Gave Me"
"Leave My Body"
You might be thinking, why did you list so many? And the answer is, because I couldn't bear to leave any of them out. They are all fabulous. In fact, the whole CD is good. Buy it now!

Remember when I posted this post about overalls and no one commented because everyone thinks overalls are weird?
Oh ya, I do too.
Well I disregarding what everyone said and this is what happened.
Wow the fact that this is so blurry is super annoying. But I posted it on instagram if you want to see it better.
I am obsessed with them. I mean who doesn't love a good pair of pink overalls?
Oh that's right, everyone.

If someone said this to me I would fall so fast.
Please go look at this website. It is literally killing me. So hilarious.
Also Spencer just texted me the hashtag #friendsactlikesuchjerkssometimes. (yes i wasn't lying when I said I texted hashtags) And I laughed for literally 5 minutes.
Who knows what kind of weird things go on in my brain?

So remember when I posted about my blackberry and the troubles it was giving me? Well as I also mentioned it died. The trackball stopped working and the battery life was already terrible.

So I cried myself to sleep and went to get a new phone. It took some convincing but I ended up with an iPhone. And I am posting this post from my phone! So that is exciting but I still miss my blackberry.

I miss the keyboard. I miss the not touch screen. I miss being able to do everything I want to do without having to do a google search.

I missed it so much that I instagrammed about it. Yes that's right. I have an instagram now and I am OBSESSED! So follow along. If you want. My name is annasteiner6. I also love snapchat so if you like that and want me to send you ugly pictures let me know. Cause I love it!

Oh the pros and cons of life...

( Excuse the formatting if this post i am mad that the blogger app doesn't have very many formatting tools. I guess I will have I stick with the computer if I want my blog to look good)

With a title like that you probably think I am about to delve into some super sappy post. But don't fear. I would never do that to you.

Excuse the fact that I got these pictures from a screen shot on my phone...
I have been thinking alot about how my actions can make others feel and how their actions make me feel. And I have realized that I am not often thinking about how the things I do might effect someone else.
I know that it is impossible to know how people honestly feel and almost more impossible to control how others react to your actions. But I think that if I really try to think about how what I do will help or harm others I will be able to make better choices.
You never know how one thing you say or even don't say will change some one's whole day.
Both in a positive or a negative way.
I am going to challenge myself to be more considerate of others feelings and to be kinder in general. And I hope you will do the same!

So this may come as a shock to anyone that knows me, but my sweet baby blackberry is having some issues.
(but if you bring this up around any of my iphone loving friends I will deny it to the end of the earth)
Anyways, where was I? Oh yes, my blackerry is not being too nice to me right now. And since my dad said that we have an upgrade at Sprint I can go get a new phone anytime I want.
But do I want to....?
My blackberry has been so good to me, and lets be honest, I like to be different from everyone and their dog that has an iphone.
So I probably won't get an iphone....but having instagram wouldn't be the worst thing on the earth.
Oh what a dilemma I am in. Should I get a new phone? Or should I just stick it out with my lovely blackberry?

Additional info: I wrote this post earlier in the week when my phone was being fine. But you will never guess what happened phone totally died and hates me. I don't know if my phone knew I was trying to get rid of it or what. But I feel like this is Karma?

In case you were starting to feel sad that you can't hang out with and Ivy all the time I figured I would share a little bit of our hilarity.

(I apologize for the language....)
Now you may not think that is funny but I died of now it is awkward that you don't think its funny......

A few weeks ago my Great Grandpa turned 99.
99 years old! How crazy is that????
And he still goes to work most every day! Craziness
He is one of the most inspiring people I have ever known. I am so so so grateful to have him in my life and to be able to learn from him. He has done so much in his life it amazes me. I guess thats what happens when you live for almost a century.
And to think of all the things he has witnessed in his life time is spectacular.
Happy Birthday Grandpa! I love you so much and I am so happy to have you in my life!
(I know he will never ever read that because he doesn't even know what a blog is, but I couldn't help it)
I also can't help posting a picture of the youngest member of our family. I mean, how cute is he??

Remember how I am super outdoorsy?
Oh wait, I am the opposite of outdoorsy. "I am what we like to call indoorsy"
(If you can name where that quote is from, you win at life)
Anyways, a few weeks ago I woke up at 5 to go on a hike.  Yes, 5 in the morning to do a physical activity!

If you know me in real life then you probably don't believe me. That is something I never ever ever thought I would do.
But it was a super good time! Sarah, Spencer, and I had a lovely morning and we saw lots of wildlife!

Sorry the blackberry doesn't take the best pictures ever.
But Spencer took some good pictures and he thought he was hilarious when he put this on instagram with the caption "My favorite part about hiking. "
Well, it was a good time. But definitely a oncei na lifetime experience. Because my bed missed me too much when I left it all alone at 5 in the morning.
